Christmas gifts moms love to use year-round
The day of my wedding, my mind raced with anticipation. Not because of the wedding night (silly), but because of my mom’s long-awaited promise of:
The Bestowal of Our Beloved Betty Crocker Cookbook.
Not hers, mind you. Oh heavens, no. She got hers in an unairconditioned country church the summer of 1961. A relative gifted it at the wedding reception and Betty and mom have been inseparable ever since.
Mom learned to cook from the Betty Crocker Cookbook, and so did I.
I just took a sweep through my home and came up with ten things I can’t live without and turned it into a list of Christmas gift ideas for any mom. And I realized Betty was at the top of the list!

My first biscuits (although crumbly) were birthed from that cookbook. Betty taught me how to roll pie crusts, bake Christmas cookies, and roast a savory turkey to slay the Thanksgiving masses.
Not only would I die if Our Beloved Betty Crocker Cookbook disappeared, but so would my daughters, in whom I instilled a love for All Things Betty.
But enough about Betty. You’re here for the list.
And so today I give you 10 ultimate Christmas gifts moms love year-round.
(Actually, I just lied. There are twenty.)
(More on that later.)
Psssssst – hey mom – you may find a few things you want for yourself this Christmas. Click on any photo to check out a whole new world of wonder!
1.) Betty Crocker Cookbook
From pancakes to potpies to roast duck, Betty Crocker’s got it going on. For me, Betty is the Golden Standard in cooking. If you don’t have Our Beloved Betty Crocker Cookbook, I think you should ask for it for Christmas!
(You will LOVE.it.)
It definitely goes at the top of the list of gifts moms love to use year-round!
2.) Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas
Nothing says Christmas quite like Vince Guaraldi. Christmas Time is Here, Christmas is coming, and Skating, put me right in the Christmas mood! It helps me bake those Betty Crocker Christmas cookies so much better, ya know?!
Click on the photo or check out the album here.
This may not be a gift moms love to use year-round, UNLESS the mom in your life is a Christmas fanatic like me. In which case it’ll be played at least six months out of the year. 😉
Also, you could get a monthly itunes subscription. That way the option for music other than all things Christmas would be available! Right now, apple offers three free months with subscription under the family subscription offer!

3.) iPhone Bluetooth stereo
Of course, mom has to have something to listen to her album with, while she bakes her Betty Crocker Christmas cookies, right?
I use my iPhone speaker every.day.of.my.life.
Know why?
‘Cause my husband felt sorry for me using a giant coffe mug as a docket for my Charlie Brown apple tunes.
He’s right. Linus and Lucy sounds sooo much better out of a stereo than a cup. 🙂 Now that’s a thoughtful present for any mom.
This is the Inateck Bluetooth portable speaker with dock for iphones 6/6s/7 (Click on either picture for links!)
And here is the iLuv Dock 3 Apple Lightning Speaker Dock
4.) Tervis Tumbler
My husband thinks I’m an alien.
That’s because I leave glasses half-full of water in my wake. (Like on the movie Signs.) In the living room atop a lampstand. Upstairs in our bedroom, resting on the dresser. He finds my tervis liquid gold on bathroom counters, office desks, and yes, nightstands too. What can I say?
I have a healthy obsession with water.
It could be so much worse.
My choice water vessel? A Tervis Tumbler. Know what my Tervis Tumbler says? Gigi. 🙂
This is the Tervis Boho Floral Chic Tumbler.
If your person likes the beach and prefers water bottles because she’s a Cross-fit gal, the Tervis Palm Tree Wrap with grey lid will be your bff. You’re welcome.
PS Both of these tumblers come in regular or water bottle sizes.

5.) Gold Bond Ultimate Intensive Healing Hand Cream
Every mom gets dry hands in the wintertime #causedishes.
#causecooking
#causebettycrocker
I put this on morning, noon and night. I live and die by Gold Bond creams.
If you feel funny giving hand lotion (#becausepractical), I’d suggest pairing it with another item. Such as Our Beloved Betty Crocker, or the aforementioned palm tree tumbler.
This product comes in a pack of two. Lots of mothers love practical presents!

6.) Wall Calendar
Life cannot go on without my wall calendar, my phone calendar, and my daily planner. Here are a few super cute ideas from the Dayspring Online Store:
(in)courage 18-month Agenda Planner (perfect for the blogger mom, homeschool mom, or even the OCD soccer mom. 🙂

This is the perfect for the organized mom!
7.) Kindle Fire Tablet
Honestly? My Kindle fire is my BFF. For reals. Mom can read it anytime, anywhere, even up there in the air.
(That’s my Dr. Seuss impression.)
(She could even read Dr. Seuss if she wanted.)
Personally, I read mine every night before bed and when I travel with the Mister.
(I hope he takes me to the beach soon so I can get caught up on all my free Amazon books!)
Be sure to grab a case to protect said Kindle- it’s that extra touch that says, “I love you like a fruit fly loves bananas”.
Or something like that…
8.) Poinsettias
My foyer makes a welcoming statement with either a plant or flowers atop the entry table. Each Christmas, these dazzling red blossoms set the stage for a festive look.
Here is a coupon for 10%off from FlowersFast.com if you’d like to see their website for gorgeous arrangements.
And if you’re looking for a tablescape, these are from Amazon (click on the picture).
If you’d rather give (or receive) flowers some mom will ADORE year round, check out this gorgeous silk arrangement . I don’t have this, but I wouldn’t mind if someone put it on their list for me! (Hint, hint.)
Every mother loves the gift of flowers!
9.) Cozy blanket
I snuggle in my fleece snowman blanket each morning with (very large) mug of coffee. And when I sit down to take a load off mid-day. Also when I relax with the fam at night.
Trouble is, everyone steals my snowman blanket.
If the kids are taking mom’s blanket all the time, why not get her a new one?
This cozy throw is on sale right now!
Bedford Home Printed Coral Soft Fleece Sherpa Throw (that’s a mouthful).
Such cozy gifts for that special mama who likes to be warm (and possibly always has cold feet)
🙂
10.) Spiced Pumpkin Yankee Candle
I’m not allowed to burn this unless my husband’s out of town, but sometimes I sneak. (He’s super sensitive in the allergy department.)
But this. This is pure pumpkin pie aroma in a jar.
Mom will love you for this sweet-smelling offering!
Even if you didn’t bake a savory pumpkin pie from Our Beloved Betty Crocker, everyone will think you did because the smell is just like home baked.
In the meantime, make a list of gifts YOU would love, and show this post to your hubby or kids.
I bet they’ll be glad you helped them out! (Wink.)
PS If you liked this post, why not share it with your Facebook friends? Maybe they need Our Beloved Betty Crocker too!
I so agree! I’d add the extra large mug for my Earl Grey. Also crazy about comfy socks.
I may have to add those in – thanks for the idea, friend!! <3
I learned to cook from the Betty Crocker’s Boys & Girl’s Cookbook that I received on my 9th birthday, August 1, 1967. I got the grown up one as a wedding present.
We’re from the same era, Cathy! I knew you would relate! I love my BC cookbook! <3
Here’s to Betty Crocker! I absolutely love her too! (And my original Joy of Cooking. Not as much for recipes as for their extensive info “what to do with rhubarb, how long to roast a chicken, how to do anything and everything in the kitchen.”)
HAHAHA! Yes, Betty taught me E V E R Y T H I N G!! lol! And I still look to her for Thanksgiving turkey!!!! <3
