Jim is out of town with work for the fourth week straight (home on weekends). 5:00 AM and I’m wide awake – what is UP with that? I don’t even have to get up that early! I started the coffee IV drip and went with it. (He usually makes the coffee – I know, I’m spoiled!)
The school day was going great until the girls decided to build a tower out of the 29 peanut butter jars we own. They called it a science project. It reached the ceiling – and stood for 5 minutes before the jars went everywhere.
The funniest thing that happened today was when Kylie (10th grade) and I tried to read a story in her Literature book titled, “Garden Party”. We went up to her room and began to read. It was when I got to the part about “Jose the butterfly always came down wearing a silk petticoat and a kimono jacket” that we lost it. We obviously interpreted it wrong, but we had fun laughing! (We had my son and daughter downstairs wanting to join our fun!)
I never thought I’d have to tell my mom what to do, but tonight when I drove her and my dad home from church, I said, “You shouldn’t drive this car again until we can put more air in this low tire.” “Oh really?” she asked. It’s a sad point in life when you have to become a parent to the parent.
Tonight my oldest daughter, who is 22, informed me, “Mom! Tomorrow I start the first day of the last semester of college!” This is a big deal, the kid hates school (even though she makes the dean’s list), has changed her major 6 times in the last 4 1/2 years, and I spent large quantities of time on my knees regarding her schooling – begging God to let her finish! Good for you, Taryn. Mom’s proud of the young woman you’ve become.
I’m going to bed – I sure hope I’m not up again tomorrow for the 5:00 AM coffee drip!!!
you are awesome! keep it up! LOVESSSS!
