It’s time for Five Minute Friday – set the egg timer, write for five minutes, and post it to Kate Motaung’s blog! Today the word prompt is “follow”.
She followed him through the fragrant, shady trail, pine needles crunching beneath her feet, rhododendron against the hills. They stopped to admire the view below – rocky, steep ravines, cascading waterfalls, and rivers.
She followed him to the top of the mountain, and she realized why He had brought her here. The spectacular view both amazed and thrilled her.
She followed him down the steep ravines into the valley below. It became dark with shadows, cold, still. She could not see Him ahead, and she feared. He reached out and touched her.
“Fear not, for I am with Thee”.
She believed, she trusted, her heart at peace, although she could not see.

Beautiful and powerful imagery!
Your words took me back to some of the things I recently read in "Hinds' Feet on High Places" by Hannah Hurnard.

Hi neighbor! That's a great book, it's been several years since I've read it – I need to dig it out! I was drawing from my West Virginia roots! 🙂 thanks for visiting again!
Beautiful vignette, Ruthie! I linked with Suzie Eller's #livefree, so I opted out of Five Minute Friday this week, but I miss it! Love the surprise of seeing people's take on the prompt. Have a great weekend!
Poetic, comforting and when I read it, I thought, what a inspiring devotional it could be. Sometimes we don't need many words to get a point across. Beautiful, it takes me 5 minutes sometimes to just get one sentence typed, proofread and then, I usually end up erasing it.
Thanks, Betsy, I always enjoy connecting with you! This was my second FMF and I love it, although it makes me nervous. I'm a write and rewrite kinda gal. I love reading everyone's perspectives as well. Have a great weekend!
Always great to hear from you, Michelle. It's a stretch for me, too! Some people write a whole lot, and I wonder how in the world they organize their thoughts fast enough. Have a great weekend! 🙂
